I have sinned badly. Will God ever forgive me?

There are some Christian's who are living with guilt, over certain sin(s) they committed in time past. They think that they have committed an unpardonable sin, a sin that God cannot forgive them for. But of a truth, sinless perfection is not possible for as long as we dwell in this earthly tabernacle. There is no where written, that after we become born again that we will cease to sin. No one is or will ever be sinless in this life, therefore, whatever sin you may have committed, do not be too hard on yourself. Out of ignorance of God's word, certain Christian's have unfortunately fallen into depression, some have even committed suicide, some are living in isolation from their loved ones, others are burden with guilt, simply because they feel God cannot forgive them, for whatever sin or sins they might have involved themselves in.

Do not listen to the lies

Satan's objective is to bring into your remembrance your past sins, he does that to keep you bound in sin. There are certain friends, family relatives and even close acquaintance who can constantly point fingers at you and condemn you for whatever sin you committed. They will make you feel that God is angry with you and that God can never forgive you for whatever you did. The question is, is there a sin or sins too big for God to forgive? Absolutely not, but the accuser of the brethren will make you think that the sin you committed is too big for God to forgive. He will paint a picture of an angry and unforgiving God to you through the harangue of men. I do not excuse your sin, but do not listen to them, or to whatever voices you hear that tells you that God is angry with you. Those voices and words of men, that makes you feel that God can never forgive you, do not proceed from the Spirit of God.

Jesus Christ has already paid the price for all of your sins

There is no sin that can stand in competition with God's grace, and the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the indubitable proof. Beloved in Christ, all your sins are forgiven, including the sin(s) you committed in the past that you feel God can never forgive you for. All your sins are forgiven, your past, present and future sins are all forgiven in Christ Jesus. The bible says: For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more" (Hebrews 8: 12). The sin(s) you committed in the past that now serves as an encumbrance in your Christian life, that sin itself God no longer remembers it, why? Because Jesus has already paid the price for your sins. In the book of Psalms, it is written: As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalms 103: 12). God has removed our sins from his sight once and for all time. Apostle John also wrote: I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake (1 John 2: 12). The apostle wrote to us, so we can have an unwavering assurance of how much we are forgiven in Christ Jesus. There is no depth to which we have fallen into sin that the grace of God cannot abound towards us. Our sins are all forgiven through the sacrificial death of Christ in our stead.

Promises of no condemnation

God's word is full of promises of our no condemnation status in Christ Jesus. The believer in Christ will never be brought into condemnation on account of any sin. God has condemned our sins in the body of our Lord Jesus, therefore we are free from condemnation. It is written: Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8: 1). No amount of sin is too powerful enough, to cause God to condemn the believer in Christ. Jesus said: I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life (John 5: 24). We will never be condemned for our sins, because we have passed from death to life. We are in Christ and in him, we will never be punished for our sins.

You are forgiven, live for the glory of God

When you comprehend the nature of God's forgiveness, it will deepen your level of intimacy with him. If you are naïve about the nature of God's forgiveness, you will end up repeating the same sin over and over, but when you are enlightened about how much you are loved and forgiven by God, it will set free you from guilt and whatever that weighs you down. One of the antidote to break free from repeated sin, is to be conscious of God love for you, and also to understand that all your sins are forgiven. This understanding will not give anyone the license to live in lasciviousness, but it will birth the fruit of the Spirit in you, it will empower you to live for God's glory. Right believing, says an excellent author, produces right living. Child of God, all your sins are forgiven you, and this shows how much your father in heaven loves you. You are deeply loved by God beyond your human comprehension, therefore whatever you do, do all for his glory.

 A thought to ponder 🤔
